Natalie worked in the Moore lab as both an undergraduate and graduate student. As an undergraduate, she documented occurrences of the rare Lilaeopsis chinensis in the tidal rivers of Great Bay Estuary. For her Master’s thesis, she worked on Plum Island in Massachusetts and studied the vegetation composition of natural and restored dune habitats and assessed the impacts of herbaceous forb plantings on dune elevation.

Since then, Natalie has worked at the New York Botanical Garden in the William & Lynda Steere Herbarium on digitization initiatives and is presently working at the Mohonk Preserve, a non-profit land trust in New York, as the Research Collection and Citizen Science Coordinator. There, she maintains natural history collections, curates long-term datasets, and organizes citizen science volunteer programs.

As a plant enthusiast, Natalie also spends her free time gardening, growing her own herbs for teas and skincare products, and tending to dozens of house plants.
