Casey Coupe graduated from UNH in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. He started working with shrubland birds in NH as a technician for three field seasons under Mathew Tarr (UNH Extension Specialist/Professor). Later, Casey joined the UNH Garnas lab in 2019. Since beginning in the lab, he has worked on various projects relating to emerald ash borer (agrilus planipennis) and beech bark disease.
Over the summer of 2023, Casey began working as a lead field & lab technician and helped facilitate brown-tail moth trapping, southeastern NH tick sampling, purple loosestrife biocontrol, malaise trapping, and ash research in Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in New Hampshire. We can always count on Casey to find obscure supplies that are tucked away in one of our three lab spaces, and his extensive field experience is invaluable when it comes to troubleshooting on-the-fly.
