Year: Senior
Major: Communication, Minor: Sport Management
Summary of Work: As a classic American superhero turned global phenomenon, Spider-Man has transcended nations and generations to become a household name. This essay examines the latest rendition of Spider-Man, Miles Morales, his story, and how it notably deviates from the traditional myth of the character. Through first analyzing external factors contributing to Miles’ cinematic universe and then evaluating the last, but not final, movie in his trilogy, this essay aims to determine the significance of Miles’ story for both the character of Spider-Man and in relation to society. Miles is a historic Spider-Man, and his movie series is cinematically groundbreaking, but his story may have left viewers disappointed for now.
