American Lobster Research
We use ultrasonic telemetry, underwater video and laboratory experiments to investigate the factors that influence the behavior of lobsters in their natural habitat.
Horseshoe crab physiology behavior
My research has three overall goals: 1) To understand the neural basis of rhythmic Limulus behaviors; 2) To elucidate the daily and tidal rhythms horseshoe crabs express in the lab and in the field and; 3) to document the impacts biomedical bleeding has on horseshoe crabs.
Nudibranch Neurobiology and Behavior
Nudibranches are often studied by neurobiologists because they have very large, identifiable, neurons that are very amenable to neurophysiological investigations. Our studies of the nudibranch, Melibe leonina, center around their rhythmic behaviors, such as feeding and swimming.
