Research Assistants

Tori Bosio is a second-year Master of Social Work student at the University of New Hampshire. She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Deaf Studies. At Holy Cross, she developed a deep interest in mental health. This interest, combined with her passion for social justice, led her to pursue further education in social work. Before college, she took a gap year where she was an AmeriCorps member in her town’s local community health center. During her year at the community health center, she studied Social Determinants of Health and the impact the lack of access to daily necessities has on individuals and their families. This experience was vital to her pursuit of a Social Work profession. Tori’s current internship placement is at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, with previous experience interning at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

Jonathan “JR” Reid is a Master of Social Work student at the University of New Hampshire with a background spanning executive public health leadership, workforce development, and clinical systems education. He holds a bachelor’s degree of science in psychology and has served in senior roles within state public health systems, where he led large-scale workforce initiatives, facilitated cross-agency process improvement efforts, and supported system-level responses to behavioral health and access-to-care challenges. Alongside his macro-level work, JR is pursuing clinical social work training with a focus on trauma-informed practice, identity development, and behavioral health integration. His professional experience includes direct patient care in outpatient settings, interdisciplinary collaboration with clinicians and administrators, and applied research interests in workforce equity, service accessibility, and systems transformation. Grounded in the belief that every encounter is an opportunity to leave others better than he found them, JR brings a disciplined, systems-aware, and human-centered approach to his work. He is committed to bridging policy, practice, and lived experience to advance equitable, compassionate, and sustainable models of care.

Alice Riiska is a Master of Social Work Student at the University of New Hampshire with a strong commitment to mental health, rehabilitation, and social justice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wheaton College in 2023, where she also studied Psychology, Italian Studies, and Hispanic Studies. Her academic interests center on criminal thinking, deviance and social control, and the experiences of stigmatized populations. For her undergraduate thesis, Alice explored the social structures and cultural dynamics within women’s prisons, developing grounded theory to better understand incarcerated women’s lived experiences. Alice currently interns in the mental health department at the New Hampshire State Prison and works as a Youth Counselor at Mount Prospect Academy in Hampton, NH. She previously interned at Seacoast Learning Collaborative in the high school department, supporting at-risk youth through academic and behavioral interventions. Across her work, Alice strives to integrate research, advocacy, and clinical practice to promote rehabilitation, equity, and systemic change.
