Kyler Phillips, Appalachian Mountain Club Snow Science Intern, presented a poster at the 2024 Maine Sustainability & Water Conference on NESS and its implications for snow science in the Northeast. “It was fantastic to engage with so many folks who care about snow and understanding how it’s changing throughout the Northeast,” said Phillips. “From flood forecasting to recreation, snow monitoring is a critical tool in the face of climate change. Snow is such a defining characteristic of our region that the losses and changes we’re already seeing are being felt deeply.” The Maine Sustainability & Water Conference is the largest sustainability conference in the Northeast and had over 500 attendees from across the state and beyond.
