Kimberly Nesbitt, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of New Hampshire. Her research centers on early childhood cognitive development, with a particular emphasis on identifying instructional practices that support learning and achievement among young children from diverse backgrounds in early education settings.

Dr. Nesbitt brings extensive experience in multidisciplinary research and research-practice partnerships. She has led large-scale, longitudinal studies funded by federal agencies and private foundations, exploring critical issues related to the development and education of young children.

Her scholarly work is published in leading psychology and education journals, and she is the co-author of Making Schools Work. Through her teaching and outreach, Dr. Nesbitt is committed to advancing the professional development of early childhood educators, both preservice and in-service. She actively collaborates with schools, community organizations, and state agencies to enhance the quality of early childhood education.
