MISSION STATEMENT
"UNH PRECISION RACING IS A STUDENT-PROJECT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO FOSTERING THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG ENGINEERS THROUGH THE FORMULA SAE (FSAE) COMPETITION SERIES. THE FSAE PROGRAM EXPOSES STUDENTS TO ENGINEERING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM, INCLUDING DESIGNING, MANUFACTURING, PROJECT MANAGING, AND COMMUNICATING WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY."
TEAM SUMMARY
Created in 2003, the UNH Precision Racing Team has been a student design team for 19 seasons, each year striving to outdo the previous vehicle. Formula SAE (FSAE) hosts competition with over 100 racing teams with teams all across the world. The program began as a ME 755 Senior Design Project I, a senior mechanical engineering course to be showcase four years of education and is now a well established student organization.
The UNH FSAE team is comprised of 5 major subdivisions: Aerodynamics, Powertrain, Controls, Frame, and Suspension, each typically comprised of at least 2 senior students and underclassmen. As a team, we conceptualize, design, and manufacture our vehicle to prepare for competition, learning and developing our skills in welding, prototyping, manufacturing, testing, and racing, entirely as a team. We work from concept to creation with support from our professors, sponsors, peers, and community. Our team strives to build a Formula-style vehicle that allows members to experience industry while receiving their formal education.
