Dr. Kay Chen
CSD Assistant Professor
Kay Chen, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She received a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences and Technology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, Kay worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Language Technologies Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied AAC language data sciences and implementation. Before arriving at UNH, She worked as an assistant professor at the State University of New York at Fredonia.
She is a researcher and clinician in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Her research focuses on using artificial intelligence to help clinicians collect and analyze AAC data. Additionally, her clinical research focuses on developing AAC interventions and solutions for Chinese-English bilingual speakers.

Meg Morgan
CSD Clinical Assistant Professor
Meg Morgan, MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL is a bilingual clinical assistant professor and coordinator of the Multilingual/Multicultural Speech-Language Pathology Program at the University of New Hampshire. She obtained her master's degree and multicultural certificate at Arizona State University. Meg is a board-certified specialist in child language. She is currently an executive board member of the New Hampshire Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the chair of ASHA’s School Issues Advisory Board.

Hannah Tockman
Graduate Assistant
Hannah Tockman is a graduate student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program at the University of New Hampshire. She is from Newbury, NH, and attended The College of Saint Rose for her undergraduate degree where she majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is interested in working with young children in hopes of improving their abilities in all forms of communication after she graduates!

Olivia Pride
Graduate Assistant
Olivia Pride is a graduate student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program at the University of New Hampshire. She is from Eliot, ME, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2024 with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She wants to work with children to give them their confidence in communicating after she graduates.

Krista Edwards is a senior from New York. She is studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of New Hampshire with a dual major in Spanish. She plans to go to graduate school to become a speech-language pathologist in the future.

Lydia Zungy is from a small town in New Hampshire. She is a third-year Communication Sciences and Disorders student at the University of New Hampshire. After her undergraduate studies, she wants to go to graduate school to become an audiologist!

Julia Lavallee is a junior at the University of New Hampshire majoring in Communication Science and Disorders. When she graduates, she plans to go to graduate school to pursue a career in SLP. She envisions herself eventually working in a hospital so she can treat a wide range of clients. She joined TADS Lab to enrich her academic experience in the field of SLP.

My name is Sally Rainey. I am a senior at the University of New Hampshire studying Communication Sciences and Disorders. I am from Lebanon, NH. After my undergraduate schooling, I plan to pursue a master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I intend to work as an elementary school speech pathologist when I finish school.

Abbey Hughes
Undergraduate Honors Thesis Student
Abbey Hughes is a senior at the University of New Hampshire majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with pre-medical emphasis. Presently, she is in the process of writing her undergraduate honors thesis as a part of the University Honors Program (UHP). The inspiration for her thesis stems from the work of Dr. Chen at the TADS lab, particularly focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence implementation in clinical data gathering and how fNIRS can be used in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Hannah Harding
Research Volunteer
Hannah Harding graduated in May 2022 from the University of New Hampshire with her bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. Upon graduation, she began volunteering in the TADS Lab to gain understanding and experience conducting research in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. She hopes to explore this field further through coursework, research, and hands-on experience.
