{"id":94,"date":"2023-08-11T12:20:36","date_gmt":"2023-08-11T16:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/pdg\/?page_id=94"},"modified":"2024-01-19T09:24:29","modified_gmt":"2024-01-19T14:24:29","slug":"early-childhood-governance-integration-and-evaluation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/pdg\/grant-activities\/early-childhood-governance-integration-and-evaluation\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Childhood Governance, Integration and Evaluation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/pdg\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/159\/2023\/08\/ctc_logo_horizontal_fullcolor.png\" alt=\"ctc_logo_horizontal_fullcolor\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"95\" width=\"400\" title=\"ctc_logo_horizontal_fullcolor\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p><strong>Early Childhood Governance and Interagency Coordination.<\/strong>\u00a0Support for current state department efforts to increase alignment and capacity, including support for\u00a0NH&#8217;s new childhood governance model, including the\u00a0<strong><u><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/councilforthrivingchildren.org\/\">Council for Thriving Children<\/a><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0and EC Scientific Advisory Panel.\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/councilforthrivingchildren.org\/what-we-re-up-to\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Hampshire&#8217;s Early Childhood Governance Structure<\/a>\u00a0is charged with developing and advancing the state&#8217;s vision for children, families and communities; formalizing collaborations and connections to foster efficient high quality services for children and families; and using a strong equity lens to guide implementation based on agreed principles and goals.\u00a0The\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/councilforthrivingchildren.org\/\">Governor&#8217;s Appointed Council for\u00a0Thriving Children<\/a> meets the federal Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007, Public Law 110-134, which requires establishment of a state advisory council.\u00a0Established by <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/pdg\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/159\/2023\/08\/executive_order_2020-03.pdf\">Executive Order 2020-03<\/a>, the Council for Thriving Children, is New Hampshire&#8217;s advisory council on early childhood care and education and is co-led by the Departments of\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dhhs.nh.gov\/\">Health and Human Services<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.education.nh.gov\/\">Education<\/a>. The Council is responsible for advising, making recommendations, and undertaking the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Strengthen New Hampshire&#8217;s early childhood infrastructure in all environments<\/strong>, including, home, childcare, schools and community settings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build the capacity of families, professional and non-professional caregivers and educators<\/strong>\u00a0throughout the state to meet the important health and educational needs of our children<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ensure an integrated and coordinated early childhood governance structure<\/strong>\u00a0across state government and connected to local communities by ensuring ongoing needs assessment and strategic planning<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Enhance the interoperability of data systems within and across government agencies<\/strong>\u00a0to inform and monitor program and service access, equity, and quality<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promote parent knowledge and choice<\/strong>\u00a0through sustained family and community engagement, support, resources and feedback<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ensure the sharing of best practice<\/strong>\u00a0by establishing and sustaining a Center for Excellence and local\/regional forums that support parents, professional caregivers, educators, and community members<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expand access and equity, and improve transitions for children and their families<\/strong>\u00a0across the span of early childhood supports, services, and educational environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Data Interoperability.\u00a0<\/strong>Building upon the state&#8217;s scalable data integration platform, Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI), and supporting Council efforts to enhance integrated reporting, interoperability seeks to align metrics of ECCE program quality, ECCE workforce professional development, and relevant child and family outcomes needed to guide continuous quality improvement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/pdg\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/159\/2023\/08\/nh_council_for_thriving_children_2020_year_in_review_final_1.pdf\">2020 Year in Review Report &#8211;
