Joy is a second year master’s student in Microbiology. She attended Niagara University where she earned a B.S. in Biology and studied the microbial ecology of Fayetteville Green Lake. Currently, Joy is working to understand the permafrost microbiome response to thaw through the isolation of bacterial endospores from pre- and post-thaw permafrost soils.
