{"id":224,"date":"2022-04-28T16:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/dao-lab\/?p=224"},"modified":"2023-07-11T16:00:28","modified_gmt":"2023-07-11T20:00:28","slug":"seeking-part-time-study-nurse-emt-phlebotomist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/dao-lab\/2022\/04\/28\/seeking-part-time-study-nurse-emt-phlebotomist\/","title":{"rendered":"Seeking Part-time Study Nurse\/EMT\/Phlebotomist"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">April 28, 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dao Research Lab at the University of New Hampshire is seeking a part-time study nurse, EMT, or phlebotomist for an ongoing research project in the lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Adjunct Staff position.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">$25\/hour, up to 10 hours\/week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Immediate supervisor:&nbsp;<\/strong>Maria Carlota Dao, Department of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proposed start<\/strong>: May 2022 \u2013 end date TBD<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Description of tasks<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study nurse, EMT, or phlebotomist will perform blood draws under fasting conditions and as part of a mixed-meal tolerance test (MMTT) protocol, which includes insertion of intravenous catheters. The person hired for this &nbsp;&nbsp;position will work closely with the study coordinator in scheduling study sessions at both the Durham and Manchester UNH campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attend study visits at both UNH Durham and Manchester study sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insert intra-venous catheters and conduct approximately 5 blood samples per participant during study sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remain on-site for the duration of study visits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Packaging and transporting participant biospecimens to research and diagnostic labs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training in intra-venous catheter insertion and blood sampling procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certified in CPR and First Aid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preferred:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fluency in Spanish and English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with clinical assessments (blood pressure, weight, height)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Required documents<\/strong>: Resume\/Curriculum Vitae (CV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>References<\/strong>: minimum of 2 professional references<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in this position, please contact our lab coordinator, Megan Milligan, at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:megan.milligan@unh.edu\">megan.milligan@unh.edu<\/a>&nbsp;or apply here:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.usnh.edu\/postings\/44606\">https:\/\/jobs.usnh.edu\/postings\/44606<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about the Dao Research Lab, please find us on Facebook @UNHDaoResearchLab.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 28, 2022 The Dao Research Lab at the University of New Hampshire is seeking a part-time study nurse, EMT, or phlebotomist for an ongoing research project in the lab.
