Opportunities to learn more about CoRE and research collaboration

February 1, 2018

It is with great pleasure that we announce the second annual Collaborative Research Excellence (CoRE) initiative. UNH holds “A Deep Commitment to Interdisciplinarity” as one of six visions and values for the university to pursue. CoRE supports this vision by providing five funding opportunities that will collectively reinforce a broad culture of interdisciplinary exchange, collaboration, planning, and support.

Additional details can be found by clicking on the specific opportunities above or visiting https://mypages.unh.edu/core/funding .

Interested UNH faculty must submit an application via https://unh.infoready4.com  no later than 5:00 P.M. on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Briefly:

Interdisciplinary Working Groups will support groups of faculty to convene around research topic areas to build awareness and relationships across disciplines, allow for cross-fertilization of ideas, identify potential collaborative research opportunities, and provide a venue for finding partners.

Pilot Research Partnerships will seed-fund collaborative research projects with strong potential to garner future funding from external sources (including industrial support) and/or with outstanding commercial potential. Projects may be intra-institutional, multi-institutional, or public-private partnerships.

Creating New Centers will support the establishment of new, interdisciplinary Centers with research programs that have strong potential for significant future funding support from government agencies, corporations, industrial consortia or foundations.

Strengthening Existing Centers will better position existing interdisciplinary Centers for success.

Supporting Large, Complex Proposal Development will provide dedicated funding and guidance to increase the competitiveness of UNH teams for major, interdisciplinary external grants.
