This summer of 2024, she will be shadowing and volunteering at the hospital to gain some clinical hours. In the fall, she will be applying to nurse practitioner programs in Boston. She&#8217;ll be taking the EMT course through the school and plan to work as an EMT prior to her master&#8217;s program. She&#8217;s looking forward to senior year!\n\t<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.usnh.edu\/bigorniaresearchlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/120\/2023\/07\/christopher-guarino.jpeg\" alt=\"Christopher Guarino\" width=\"154\" height=\"154\" \/>Chris Guarino, B.S.<\/strong><br \/>\nChris is a Master&#8217;s Student in Nutritional Sciences for the Bigornia lab. He currently investigates the Mediterranean, MIND index, culturally-specific dietary patterns, and brain volumetric measurements among older adults from the Boston Puerto Rican Health Study. Currently I am completing my honors thesis in Dr. Bigornia&#8217;s lab, which is analyzing the effect of fish consumption on cognitive function and depression. He also completed his dietetic internship through UNH, working in acute care, community, and foodservice settings. He has worked as a research assistant in Dr. Bigornia&#8217;s lab since 2021 on topics ranging from the estimation of polyphenol consumption in the US to surveying and reporting seafood availability throughout New Hampshire.
