Range Rules

STANDARD ARCHERY RANGE RULES

  • Know and obey all range commands
  • Keep your arrows in your quiver until you are told to shoot.
  • Always wear your arm guard and finger tab.
  • Only the arrows the instructor gave you.
  • Always keep your arrows pointed down or towards the target.
  • If you drop an arrow leave it on the ground until you are told to pick it up.
  • Always walk at the archery ranges

ARCHERY RANGE WHISTLE COMMANDS

  • Two blasts- archers to the shooting line
  • One blast- remove arrow from quiver, nock it and begin shooting.
  • Three blasts- walk forward and get your arrows.
  • Four or more blasts- STOP SHOOTING, let arrow down and replace in quiver.

PULLING ARROWS FROM TARGETS

  • Two archers at a time on each target bale removes arrows
  • Stand to the side of the target while waiting to pull arrows and make sure no one is behind you when you pull your arrows.
  • Pull arrows one at a time and place in quiver.
  • Return to waiting line.
