Nick is a research scientist based in the Agroecology Lab where he helps facilitate the lab’s research program. He does this by working with undergraduate and graduate students and implementing field and controlled environment experiments. Nick has a master’s degree in Natural Resources from UNH and is currently enrolled in the NRESS program. He is studying patterns in plant resource use, and how their competitive or complementary interactions can lead to more successful agricultural ecosystems. His previous work in low input aquaculture systems in Haiti helped shape his interest in agriculture and ecology, which translates well to New England’s small, diversified farms, as they share many of the same principals and challenges.
